Loire Valley châteaux from Paris — Chambord and Chenonceau with your chauffeur
Chambord, Chenonceau, Amboise and the Clos Lucé — two hours from Paris, in a region where the châteaux are far apart and the car makes the day. I collect you at your hotel at eight, we see two or three châteaux at your pace, lunch is reserved, and you are back in Paris for dinner.
A day in the Loire Valley, the way I usually plan it
A typical outline — the châteaux are chosen with you. Two is comfortable, three is possible with an early start. Chambord and Chenonceau are the classic pair; Amboise and the Clos Lucé suit a second visit or a Leonardo da Vinci enthusiast.
South-west out of Paris on the A10. Water, chargers and WiFi on board; you may sleep until the first château.
François I's hunting palace: the double-helix staircase, the rooftop terraces, the park. Allow an hour and a half to two hours. The car waits at the entrance.
A table reserved in Amboise or in a village on the way — or a picnic in the park at Chambord, if the weather is on our side.
The château of the Ladies, built across the river Cher. The gallery over the water, the gardens of Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici. About an hour and a half.
Time permitting: the royal château of Amboise and the Clos Lucé, where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last years. Otherwise we set off for Paris.
Back at your hotel in the early evening.

Loire Valley — your questions
How far is the Loire Valley from Paris by car?
Chambord is about 185 km south-west of Paris — roughly 2 hours by motorway. Chenonceau is another 50 minutes further. With an 8 am departure you have a full day and are back in Paris around 6:30 pm.
How many châteaux can we see in one day?
Two comfortably — Chambord and Chenonceau are the classic pairing. Three is possible with an early start and a quick lunch, adding Amboise or Cheverny. More than that and the day becomes a race; I would rather you enjoy each one.
Which château should we choose?
Chambord for scale and architecture, Chenonceau for elegance and gardens, Amboise and the Clos Lucé for history and Leonardo da Vinci, Cheverny for a lived-in family château, Villandry for the gardens. Tell me what moves you and I will suggest the pair.
Do we need to book tickets in advance?
Recommended, especially from May to September and at Chenonceau. I can arrange timed-entry tickets through our concierge service, or advise you on how to book.
Is a wine tasting possible on the way?
Yes — Vouvray and Montlouis are a short detour between Chenonceau and Amboise. A cellar visit and tasting can be reserved for the late afternoon. You taste, I drive.
How much does a private day trip to the Loire châteaux cost?
There is no price grid: every proposal is written for your date, your group size and the châteaux you choose. You receive a written, all-inclusive quote within 2 hours — vehicle, chauffeur, fuel, tolls and waiting time included. Tickets and lunch are added on request.
Shall I plan your day in the Loire Valley?
Tell me your date, your group and the châteaux you dream of. I will come back with a written proposal within 2 hours.
